Guiding Our Franchisees Through Rough Waters – July 2020 Update
David Regelean, CITYROW Owner in Allen, Texas has already seen 90% of his members return following his studio’s May reopening, along with a dozen new members and counting. The CITYROW corporate team’s efforts to keep members engaged did not go unnoticed, as David mentions:
“They’ve helped us set up information to send to the members to let them know whats going on with the studio. Then when we did reopen, they helped us with a checklist for things that need to be done prior to opening and things that need to continue to be done during operation.”
David also praises the CITYROW online program that the corporate team launched while studios had to remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“If it was just something a week or so, maybe two weeks, the members could live with that. But I think that as the duration lengthened they were looking at what they could do for workouts. I think having the online classes helped out a lot.”
From the beginning, the CITYROW team has prioritized helping franchisees through these rough waters. Even before locations were mandated to close, the team proactively began creating online workout videos for members. CITYROW has helped franchisees stay in constant communication with their members, keeping them engaged, excited, and ready to return. Members are always kept in the loop with regular updates through social media, email, and text.
Some franchisees elected to set up a Rent a Rower program to maximize revenue during the closures. Dan Root of Boca Raton even lent a rower to his local hospital for doctors and other essential health care workers to have access to.
Dan opened his CITYROW location on February 8th, shortly before the pandemic took hold; but he’s kept up positive relationships with his customers to keep them engaged and ready to return. Now that he has reopened his studio at limited capacity, he remains hopeful for the future as his members return.
“Every day, I like to have a win. Every little win that happens, you have to keep building on that. Its gonna take a while, this has really impacted us majorly… but I’m excited about the new people we’ve brought in.”
Reduced capacity classes and stricter cleaning regimens might be sticking around for a while—that is simply the nature of these times. But CITYROW has proven itself to be ready to bounce back and recover from whatever gets thrown our way.
Spotlight: CITYROW Del Mar Gives Back
While making preparations for their grand opening, CITYROW Owners Milton and Becki wanted to do something to help their community out during these tough times. They have partnered with Burger Lounge to deliver meals to local families with the launch of the CITYROW Del Mar Gives Back program!
Recipients are nominated by members of the community. Some of the winners so far include ER doctors, first responders, essential workers, and local business owners. The winners and their families have been so grateful to be able to enjoy taking a break from their busy schedules and spending time with their families, and CITYROW is being recognized as a real force of good in the Del Mar community! Congratulations to Milton and Becki.
